It is native to the northern region of South America and also cultivated in some regions of Asia, Europe, Canada and India. Stevia are perennial semi-shrub up to 30 cm. in height and leaves are sessile, 3-4 cm. long, elongate-lanceolate. Stevia leaf extract is a natural alternative to artificial sweetener.
