            Capsicum or Chili is a long-living herbaceous plant originating from tropical areas in South America. Now, it is worldwide cultivated in tropical areas. It is hot and spicy. Capsicum is used as a stomachic, as a carminative, and as a digestive in the case of small amount of gastric juices. It is also used as an expectorant, as an anti-emetic, and as a perspirant. In traditional medicine, Capsicum mixed with Myrrh will have highly antiseptic property and used as a rubefacient for relieving of muscle pain. In cosmetics, the Capsicum extract is used as an anticellulite for reducing the fatty substance around the abdominal area and as a hair tonic for hair follicle. The active ingredients in capsicum are capsicin, cryptoxanthin, capsorubin, and carotenoids.

1. Stimulate gastric movement and hydrochloric acid and peptic enzyme.

2. Stimulate mucous membrane and circulation blood flow.

3. Decrease pain from arthritis, muscle pain, neuralgia and post-surgical mastectomy.

4. In high concentration of capsaicin will decrease lipid and glucose absorption.

5. Inhibit bacteria growth.
